Built by William the Conqueror in 1068, Warwick Castle is a majestic symbol of great power and wealth. Heavily fortified and used to hold prisoners including King Edward IV, the castle was gentrified to the specifications of the Greville family who became the Earls of the town from 1759 till 1978. It was purchased by the Tussauds Group in 1978, and opened to the public as a tourist attraction. It remains a grade I listed building, and as such is a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
The proximity of arterial routes both north south and east west have made Warwick an exceptionally interesting central location for many important businesses.
From the perspective of location in the country, this town in Warwickshire is an ideal base, as the Volvo Group UK, IBM, Conoco, Phillips, and many other big technology services as well as industrial supply services such as The National Transmission System have bases there.Warwickshire is surrounded by a plethora of counties: Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Worcestershire, Northamptonshire, Leicestershire, Staffordshire, and the West Midlands metropolitan county.
